We met first thing this morning and walked 2 miles. I do feel better! This is a pic of my little encouraging friend Peggy! And yes...that is yesterday's makeup (what little there is)! Give me a few days...I'll get my ducks in a row!
I know my chances of marking "YES, I LOST MY 2 POUNDS THIS WEEK" (sidebar on the right) would increase if I would COMMIT to walking. By the way, you know that whole "BE REAL" thing, well, you will notice that there are 2 Yes / 1 No (on sidebar) to losing our weekly 2 lbs...yeah, you guessed it...I'M THE NO!!!!! Don't forget we are weighing in on Fridays (that's TODAY)! Click if you lost your 2 lbs this week...it encourages the rest of us! If you DON'T lose your 2 lbs...don't forget to click because "misery loves company"! LOL
It should be a little easier for me now that I'm going to do this walking thing.
It's fun to visit with a friend while doing the big "E" (exercising). I'm officially committing to walking a couple of miles a day probably 3-5 days a week. As good as I feel... I hope you might be able to fit something like this in your schedule. I personally would like my jello to jiggle, NOT MY BODY! YUCK! (I posted a little clicker like the one we used this morning. You push it every time you do a lap and you can keep track of your miles walked.)
Do the buddy system. If you don't have a buddy, just go to the gym, you may meet someone there. I met one of my dearest friends when I took the boys to the park. We've been friends ever since and that was 11 yrs ago. You never know when you'll make a new friend.
If you can't get to a gym, buy a workout DVD. BE CAUTIOUS!!! I sooo got ripped off. I bought one, brought it home and I did not lose ONE pound! I'm so mad! Now, I don't even know where it is. IN FACT, I had a feeling that would happen and I don't think I ever really opened it. See....I WAS RIGHT!
If you want to start doing something to get in shape or tone up...and you need a partner...I WILL BE YOUR PARTNER! That means we have to chat about what we accomplish. You can comment to me or email me at marla@robisoncreative.com if you want to partner with me. We need to talk about our plan. It will be fun! We can inspire one another to VICTORY!
Hey don't forget today is BATHROOM cleaning day! WOOHOO! My shower doors are those totally "clear" kind. My family thinks they're FROSTED glass...shhhhh don't tell them! Just Kidding! (Kinda) I'm attacking soap scum today!
FF Idea: About 2 yrs ago I monogrammed everyone's towels. I had many reasons:
1. When several people share one shower room, its easy to grab the right towel.
2. It looks pretty. : )
3. The REAL reason; after everyone finishes their shower, I can see who needs to pick theirs up off the floor! So yeah, today it was ME! Gotta Hate That!
Speaking of showers, I have this awesome back brush that feels so great to use in the shower. I posted one below, in case you need one to slough off dead skin on your back...Ummmm...that sounds gross. It's also a great back scratcher, VERY relaxing.
I think I saw that shipping is free when you purchase $25 on Amazon. I found a few cool deals if you would like to send a good friend, mom or sis a surprise. Hope you like them!
So, yesterday there was a stray dog about to run onto the highway. The boys and I picked her up hoping to find her owners at a nearby home. We went to one house to see if she belonged to them and she did. She had escaped from her leash. The owner was a frail older woman probably close to 80. She was a widow, living alone. We gave her the dog and smiled and chatted for a moment. She said, "You people are so nice, I wish you could come in and visit." We had an appt so we couldn't, but I realized how lonely she must be. She had recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor. She lives next door to the boys' Trap Shooting range they go to each week, so I promised we would come back next week. I'm thinking I'll take her cookies.
WOW! I felt that God was saying, "There are people like this all around you, they are lonely." The boys and I are excited to visit her for a few minutes again next week. I don't know how long she will live but maybe we can make her smile before she leaves this earth.
I think of that scripture, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
I want to teach the boys to look for opportunities for God to use them to bless someone else. I had this picture of the boys (see below) and it made me smile...God may use YOU to be someone's rescuer coming in on a white horse!
