Do Everything With Purpose!

One Saturday morning, Brent & I were laying in bed (We were talking! I promise!)  The boys ran in and jumped in bed with us.  We were just kind of laying there and I said, "Hey guys, we are never going to have this day again...What are we going to do with it?"  At that time, Christian was 10 yrs old.  He looked over at me and said, "Mom are you reading a new book?"

Brent and I had to laugh!  The boys know that I am always looking for ways to make the most of EVERY day.  Life is too short, I don't want to waste one minute of it.  Even if that means relaxing and doing nothing but being together with my family!  I want to accomplish that...not just HOPE it happens.

I heard one speaker say, "Do EVERYTHING with purpose!  If you are going to a friend's house, why are you going?  If you purpose in your heart that you want to do something as simple as encourage your friend...you will accomplish a greater level of encouraging your friend because you purposed in your heart what you wanted to accomplish."  Be purposeful in your actions. What you would like to accomplish today?  Leave NOTHING to chance.

GOOD:  I "hope" I have a good day.  BETTER:  I'm going to have a good day and make someone smile!
GOOD:  I would really like to be a better mom.  BETTER:  Today I am going to play a game with the boys that I know they love to play.
GOOD:  I want to encourage my husband.  BETTER:  I will give my husband 2 compliments today to show him how much I appreciate his hard work.  "Brent I am so proud of you and how you have used the talent God has given you."  "Brent you are a great dad.  The boys had so much fun playing video games with you last night."  By the way, BE SPECIFIC when complimenting...be genuine!
If you haven't seen the movie, FIREPROOF, I highly recommend it!  Great story line!

"With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith."

Paul tells us to PRAY and let God "by his power...fulfill our purposes".   That takes a little pressure off!  Purpose to make a difference in someone's life today and ask God to fulfill every good purpose.

What will you do PURPOSELY today?
I would say, today I am going to  purpose to spend quality time with a few people I love.
