A BIG THANK YOU to my Mom!
I remember Mom taking my sister and I for walks after dinner, in our neighborhood. What a great MOM! We would get exercise and it was quiet time to share our thoughts and visit with Mom. I vividly remember her saying quite often, "I'm excited to see what you're going to be when you grow up!" She would say, "I'm excited to see all the ways God is going to use you". She spoke victorious & encouraging words over our lives. My goodness, she made it sound so exciting...I couldn't wait to see what amazing things God was going to do in my life! Let's speak words of encouragement over our families.Oh and one more thing to you moms who might be reading this blog...."I'm excited to see what YOU'RE GOING TO BE!" God has an amazing plan for YOU! Be watching for opportunities He is going to send your way, it could be at home, at work, at church...somewhere in your life!
Encouragement Idea: I purchased a dry erase board to hang in my kitchen. Each Sunday I have started writing an encouraging word to my family. The boys started back to school today after a 3 week Christmas/Snow break. I wanted to speak encouraging words over them so this week's message read:
"Happy 1st Week Back to School Boys! I love you, Mom"
I purchased a dry erase board that has to hang on a wall. I would encourage you to buy a magnetized one to hang on the front of your refrigerator. Most likely, this is one place the family would see it most often. I found these two online...the one on the left is brown and the right one is black. I hope some of these finds help you...I could not find them in stores.
MARVELOUS MONDAY REMINDERS:
FINDING THE FLOOR...
Today we focus on our Master Bedrooms. This week we should be able to do a little more than last week in our rooms. If you have to...take it one corner at a time.
I recently read a really great tip on KEEPING CONTROL OF CLUTTER. I'm not recalling where I read it but it said to look for places of clutter in your home...the reason you have clutter is because you have no place for those items. I went home, looked around and sure enough...that was accurate. I want to encourage you to eliminate clutter in your bedroom by finding a NEAT place to store everything, perhaps in a basket...out of your way.
FINDING FAVOR...
2 Samuel 12:13-24
WHAT AN AMAZING STORY!
David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the Lord." And Nathan said to David, "the Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. Nevertheless, because by this deed (referring to David killing Uriah & taking his wife) you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child who is born to you shall die." Then Nathan went to his house.
And the Lord afflicted the child that Uriah's wife bore to David, and he became sick. David therefore sought God on behalf of the child. And David fasted and went in & lay on the ground. And the elders of his house stood beside him, to raise him from the ground, but he would not, nor did he eat food with them.
On the 7th day the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, "How can we say to him the child is dead? He may do himself some harm." (Obviously, David loved his son very much.) But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David understood that the child was dead. And David said to his servants, "Is the child dead?" They said, "He is dead." Then David arose from the earth and washed and anointed himself and changed his clothes. AND HE WENT INTO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD AND WORSHIPPED. (Wow...he trusted God! He worshipped although it didn't appear God was near.)
Verse 24 reads: Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her, and she bore him a son, and he called his name SOLOMON. AND THE LORD LOVED HIM.
What a God of love & mercy. David's first son died, David repented, God forgave David & BLESSED the son of David and Bathsheba. You know the story! SOLOMON BECAME KING, the WISEST and RICHEST man who EVER LIVED!
Thank you God for fresh starts and blessings beyond anything we ever imagined...no matter what has been in our past!!! PRAISE GOD!
