I can't wait to hear from YOU! This is better than coffee with 2 or 3...now we can blog at our convenience and share our hearts.
We are focussing on organization. If we don't take control of our chores of our homes, they will control us...disguised as stress & anxiety. Each day we will focus on "TODAY'S HOME CHALLENGE". Please join me (encouragement is good) or make better suggestions! Our goal is to strive for balance & excellence with organizing our homes. Each day (Mon-Fri) we will list a challenge and 5 details to accomplish that challenge.
We can't leave out our "Spiritual Challenge"! This challenge is to ensure that we're not making everything better on the OUTSIDE of our lives without making ourselves better on the INSIDE.
Again, thank you for joining me and PLEASE don't forget to post your thoughts. Remember we need each other. : )
TODAY'S HOME CHALLENGE:
MONDAY: MASTER BEDROOM & ONE LOAD OF LAUNDRY
2. Dust
3. Mirrors
4. Vacuum
5. Organize Drawers/Closets
I know the first week will be the most difficult because we have not committed to these details before. HOWEVER, each week will get easier as we get on top of these tasks. We must not let them rule us any longer...we are taking charge of our homes and creating order out of chaos! : )
P.S. Next week I am excited to add quick, healthy dinner & snack options for our families!
TODAY'S SPIRITUAL CHALLENGE:
RESTORATION! II Kings 8:1-6
Today I read about the Shunammite woman who was warned by Elisha that a famine was coming and she would have to "sojourn wherever you can for 7 years". The woman packed up her home & left for 7 years as she was told. The Shunammite woman was obedient and after 7 yrs went to appeal to the king for her house and her land.
The king appointed an official to her, saying, "Restore all that was hers, together with all the produce of the fields from the day that she left the land until now."
WOOHOO! I want to challenge every woman reading this blog to...PERSEVERE. OBEY the Lord and then don't be shy to go to Him and request ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that may have been lost in your past! We serve an awesome God who wants to RESTORE his daughters!
Dear Lord,
Thank you for your Word that strengthens and encourages us. Please bless every woman who read this blog today and help her to be bold as she asks & waits upon You to restore her life and give back EVERYTHING that was lost "from that day until now". You are a good God and we love you and thank you for restoration.
In your Holy Name,
Amen

wow marla...like that was really deep. hee hee its me...Marla. I don't have any friends yet...so I had to take a moment and encourage myself! LOL
I think this passage is so cool too! I read it recently and the thing I loved was how the Shunammite woman walked up at precisely the time when Gehazi, Elisha's servant, was talking to the king. God orchestrated the whole thing. There he was telling the king the story of this woman and her son and she walks up. Had Gehazi not been telling the king her story, the outcome may bave been very different. If there's anything I love about my God- He is faithful, and He is PRECISELY on time.
Wow! this is awesome. Psalms 51:10-12 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.11 Cast me not away from thy presence;and take not thy Holy Spirit from me 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. God loves us and he cares. He will take care of us.
Loved it - thanks for sharing. As the daily chores go.....I know I need to be more organized but there is no way I can accomplish all that you wrote after work & dinner. (have to feed the men folk) But I will try to do some of your schedule & see how it goes. :) This blog is a great idea.
Thanks you guys!!!! Look I have 3 friends now!!! WOOHOO!
Carrie, I love what you added...you blessed me about God's preciseness (is that a word?)
Mom, ahem....I mean Sheila, good stuff you wrote there! Looks like I will be calling on you on sick days to fill in on the "Spiritual Challenge" hee hee.
Dixie, I love what u wrote about the chores. I have been a stay-home mom & a working-mom & either way, the chores NEVER cease. Please help me figure out a way we can spend minimal time cleaning and still maintain order. My goal is to spend one hour on housework per day. Do you think that is too much, too little or about right? I may need to alter the "challenge" to stay in the parameters. You are right...keeping the men folk fed is WAAAAAY important!
Okay, last post no scripture. Felt a little unspiritual.
After reading the below scripture I thought this would be relevant to your blog.
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
oh wow Dixie! I LOVE IT!!!! That's what we're doing! We're being the friend...helping another friend up! You're sooooo good! well...I mean God is so good...since ya know...He wrote it! Love you lots! PS...VERY SPIRITUAL post!
Love your blog Marla!!! I will be reading. You know I cant get enough of organization! :)
Love you!
